Best BBQ & Karahi in Sharjah: Live Tandoor at Taier Al Monal

"Best BBQ" and "best karahi" are two different searches with a lot of overlap in Sharjah. Here's what's actually cooked live at Taier Al Monal's tandoor counter, and how the karahi menu compares.

BBQ and karahi are two different dishes that get searched for together a lot in Sharjah — one's grilled over live coals, the other's cooked in a pan with a spiced tomato-based gravy. Taier Al Monal runs both, every day, off the same kitchen behind our buffet and à la carte menu.

On the live tandoor counter

  • Tandoori boti — marinated, grilled to order
  • Seekh kabab — mutton, hand-formed and grilled over live coals
  • Malai boti — the milder, creamier boti option
  • Reshmi kabab and mutton chops — on the à la carte and buffet rotation

On the karahi menu

  • Chicken karahi and white chicken karahi
  • Mutton karahi
  • Murgh achari handi and butter chicken handi, for the handi side of the same category

Why "live" is the part that matters

A tandoor counter that's actually live — grilling in front of you rather than holding pre-cooked skewers under a lamp — changes the texture of the meat and, honestly, the whole feel of a BBQ order. It's part of both buffets and available à la carte the rest of the time.

When you can get it

BBQ and karahi are on both the weekday buffet (Monday–Thursday) and weekend buffet (Friday–Sunday), and available à la carte daily from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM — so it's not a weekend-only or buffet-only order.
