Catering in Sharjah: The Complete Guide to Weddings, Majlis & Corporate Events

How catering pricing, guest tiers and timelines actually work for weddings, majlis and corporate events in Sharjah — and the questions worth asking before you book any caterer.

Whether it's a 50-person office lunch or a 1,000-guest wedding, catering in Sharjah usually comes down to the same three questions: how many people, what kind of food, and how much service do you actually need on the day. Here's how we think about it at Taier Al Monal, and what's worth asking any caterer before you book.

Match the tier to the occasion

  • Gathering (50–150 guests) — office lunches, small majlis and family functions, with drop-off or light service.
  • Celebration (150–500 guests) — birthdays, engagements and mid-size weddings, with full staff, live counters, setup and clearing.
  • Grand Occasion (500+ guests) — large weddings and majlis, with multiple live stations and a dedicated event manager.

Most quoting mistakes happen when the guest count and service level don't match — a 500-guest wedding booked as a drop-off order runs into trouble fast. Get the headcount and format right first, and the rest follows.

What's actually on a catering menu

Our catering menu is the same kitchen behind the everyday buffet, not a separate, scaled-down version: biryani and rice, karahi and curries, live tandoor BBQ kababs, handi specialties, fresh naan and bread, and dessert tables built around gulab jamun and other classics. Live counters — a tandoor grill or a biryani platter station — tend to be what guests remember most from an event.

Three questions to ask any caterer

  • Is the food cooked on-site or reheated? Live stations mean fresher food and better theatre for guests.
  • What's included in the quoted price — staff, setup and clearing, or just the food?
  • How much lead time do they need for your guest count? Large weddings need weeks, not days.

How booking works

Tell us the date, guest count, venue and occasion — over WhatsApp or the contact form is easiest. We build a tasting menu around your budget from the full Monal kitchen, then handle setup, live stations, service staff and clean-up on the day. For Grand Occasion weddings (500+ guests) we recommend booking a few weeks ahead; smaller gatherings can often be arranged with just a few days' notice.
